After years of blockage by the Church and its insurance industry allies, it appears that the day may finally have arrived for window legislation passage in New York State.

After a flurry of activity late last week, a vote on the Child Victims Act is planned for Monday in both house of the state Legislature.

The law would allow previously time-barred claims for childhood sexual abuse to proceed to litigation.

Details are not yet available but it is hoped the window will be more a period of two years and will allow victims up to age 55 to bring claims for damages in civil court.
